CEAT Sri Lanka rolls out new radial tyre

A new radial tyre specially designed to provide higher mileage and deliver greater comfort to van users has rolled off the presses of CEAT Sri Lanka’s hi-tech radial plant in Sri Lanka.

Branded CEAT ‘Rhino Plus’ the new range replaces CEAT’s ‘Rhino’ tyres, and the ‘Plus’ denotes new benefits and features, the company said.

An enhanced design, improved compounds, an eye-catching tread pattern contribute to safety and passenger comfort.  The greater tread depth of the new design delivers better mileage adding the advantage of lower cost per kilometer, a spokesperson for CEAT Sri Lanka said.

The new tyre is available in five Key van sizes.

Sales of CEAT radial tyres increased by 55 per cent in the last financial year making CEAT the highest-selling single radial tyre brand in Sri Lanka, the spokesperson said.

The radial tyre plant of CEAT Sri Lanka now manufactures hi-tech radial tyres in 15 popular car and van sizes, offering a range that will fit most small and mid size cars and vans.

CEAT Sri Lanka’s radial tyres are backed by one of a kind comprehensive no-questions-asked warranty that is valid for up to 50 per cent of tyre wear.

Besides its dominance in the radial tyre segment, CEAT’s market shares in the Truck and Light Truck and Three-wheeler segments have grown to 58 per cent and 38 per cent respectively, making it the single highest selling brand in these categories as well.

CEAT tyres are now in use in 110 countries giving the brand a global presence.

A winner at the National Quality Awards 2011 and the National Business Excellence Awards 2010, CEAT operates three manufacturing units in Sri Lanka manufacturing truck, light truck, radial, motorcycle, three-wheeler and agricultural tyres and employs a workforce of 900 people.
