Ceylinco Life, the country’s leading life insurer, has partnered with Ecole Internationale to develop an insurance policy that will enable the school’s students to continue their education in the event of the premature death or disablement of their parents.

The unique group life policy covers all students receiving their education at Ecole Internationale, and is offered at no cost to the parents, the company said.
Students are also entitled to a medical cover for injuries sustained during school hours under this policy.
“All parents wish that their children will receive a complete education without interruption,” said Ceylinco Life Managing Director and CEO R. Renganathan. “This policy ensures that this will be accomplished, regardless of whether the parents are covered individually by life policies.”
Ecole Internationale Managing Director Chandre Monerawela said: “We consider this tie up with Ceylinco Life a great privilege offered to the students receiving education at our school. We hope this initiative by the two institutions will result in one less worry for the parents at a time when pressures are mounting on many fronts.”
Ecole Internationale was founded by Manel Monerawela Rajapakse in 1980 with eight children at No 85, Lady Gordon’s Drive, Kandy. The school now accommodates a large number of students both in the primary school in Kandy and the senior school in Digana. Chandre Monerawela who signed the MoU with Ceylinco Life added that the Ecole Internationale team has maintained high standards and offers the best of quality education to students and a variety of sporting activities that only high-end international schools offer.
Over the years Ecole has produced many world prize winners through its Science, Commerce and Art Streams and hundreds of Ecole students have joined prestigious universities such as Oxford, Monash, Liverpool, Manchester, Cambridge, Princeton, Harvard and many other leading universities in Europe, India, China, Nepal, Bangladesh, Japan and Australia.
Independently rated one of Sri Lanka’s most valuable brands, Ceylinco Life has maintained the country’s long term insurance sector from 2004 onwards. The company operates the largest branch network among local life insurance companies, and has won multiple international and local awards for its commitment to the community and success in brand equity building.
