The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Inland Revenue Department will hold a seminar to discuss the ‘Benefits of RAMIS for Business’ on 18 February, the first private sector forum on the new system to pay and collect taxes online launched by the IRD recently.
The seminar, to be held at the auditorium of the Ceylon Chamber, will feature the top leadership of the IRD highlighting the advantages of the ‘RAMIS’ system, how to navigate it, and clarify any issues with its implementation.
A top panel of tax consultants and Chief Financial Officers of the corporate world will join in to bring in a private sector perspective.
Kalyani Dahanayaka, Commissioner General, Department of Inland Revenue will deliver the introductory remarks, while the in-depth presentation on the ‘RAMIS’ will be delivered by J.P.D.R. Jayasekara, Deputy Commissioner General, Department of Inland Revenue.
This would be followed by a panel discussion featuring Kalyani Dahanayaka, Commissioner General of the IRD, Duminda Hulangamuwa, Chairman of the Taxation Steering Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Nilanthi Sivapragasam, Chief Financial Officer of Aitken Spence Ltd. and Shamila Jayasekera, Partner – Tax at the KPMG.
The seminar will be important for finance directors, chief accountants, accounting professionals, chief operating officers, auditors, and tax consultants.
