Ceylon Chamber, Dept. of Customs seminar on export, import procedures

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Department of Sri Lanka Customs, will organise a series of half day Seminars on Export and Import Procedures from 16, 17 and 30 of August at the Ground Floor Auditorium of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.



Often importers and exporters, even those with years of experience, encounter unexpected issues that could be easily avoided. This seminar organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce offers practical information that will help protect your company’s interests and maximize your opportunities in the global market place.

The presentations will be in the format of three half day sessions to be conducted on three different days.  Members may participate in each of the sessions, in accordance with your area of work or preference.

Session one will be held on Thursday, 16 August. It will be conducted by Superintendent of Customs M.R. Ranaraja. He will speak on the introduction to the Department of Sri Lanka Customs, Goods Valuation and Export Procedures. Session two will be held on Friday, 17 August.

The session will be conducted by Deputy Director of Customs J.A.D.A. Perera and will deal with Goods Classification and Harmonised System and Import Procedures. Session three will be held on Thursday 30 August. It will be conducted by Deputy Director of Customs S. Nethkunananthen. The areas discussed will be Export facilitation, Bonding and Entrepot Trade.

All sessions will be held at the Ground Floor Auditorium of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. They will be held from 8a.m. to 12 noon. Those interested in taking part may contact Sriyani on 5588877 or [email protected] .
