A nine-member Sri Lankan business delegation led by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce recently visited South Africa, Zambia and Rwanda to explore commercial opportunities in those countries.
Representatives from companies such as Jinasena Ltd, Kelani Cables Plc, Hayleys Plc, Dankotuwa Porcelain Plc, Union Chemicals Lanka Plc, Jinasena Infotech Ltd, Macksons Paints Industries Ltd. and Rainco Industries Ltd. joined the delegation.
The mission was supported by the Sri Lanka High Commission in South Africa, the Durban Chamber of Commerce, the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce, ANC-PBF South Africa, the Consul General for Sri Lanka in Zambia, Finance Bank Plc of Zambia, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Zambia, the Zambia Development Agency, the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry of Zambia, the Private Sector Federation of Rwanda, the High Commission of Rwanda in New Delhi and the Consul General for Rwanda in Sri Lanka. High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in South Africa, Sunil de Silva, and the delegates were accompanied by Commercial Secretary of the Sri Lanka High Commission in South Africa, Kapila J. Kumara. In addition, meetings held in Zambia were attended by Consul General for Sri Lanka in Zambia Elmo Jayetileke.
The mission started on 3 April and lasted until 13 April.
