Chamber to hold seminar on Best Corporate Citizen awards scheme

Local corporate firms can take part
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is planning to hold a seminar next week, in order to brief the local corporate sector about its upcoming ‘Best Corporate Citizens 2014 award scheme’.
The free to enter seminar will be held on 7 July 2014, where members of the evaluation panel will explain to the corporate sector, the benefits of taking part in this annual competition and the process of applying for it.
The competition will assess the sustainability initiatives taken by the corporate firms covering the areas of Environment, Employee, Customer, and Community Relations, CSR, Governance, Finance Performances and Economic Contribution.
The winner will take away the ‘Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2014’, while awards will also be given to the ‘Best Ten Corporate’ firms.
The upcoming edition will also award sector based best performers, such as the ones involved in areas such as Agriculture, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, Banking & Finance, Non Financial Services and Diversified sectors.
‘The Best Presented Application’ will also be awarded for its hard work and creativity.
In addition, the competition will recognise the exemplary projects carried out by companies on environment, education, infrastructure, North and East reconciliation, etc.
The seminar, which will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber premises, will be chaired by Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Deputy Vice Chairman Rajendra Theagarajah.
