Champika Ranawaka Chief Guest at Best Corporate Citizen Award 2011

The most awaited corporate event in the local business calendar, the Best Corporate Citizen Award 2011 will be graced by Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Power and Energy as the Chief Guest of the event on 4 November 2011 at the Cinnamon Grand.



The keynote address at the event will be delivered by Suresh P. Prabhu, former Indian Cabinet Minister of Environment and Forests, Industry, Energy, Chemicals and Fertilizers, Heavy Industry & Public Enterprises.

Prabhu has been featured as one of the top three Indian leaders of the future by Asiaweek Magazine and India Today has ranked him as the second best performing Minister in India.

Prabhu has conducted extensive work in the fields of sustainable development, banking and finance as well as international business and he is responsible for formulating a number of policy frameworks and institutional mechanisms to address sustainable development issues in India.

As a cabinet minister, he has successfully introduced a number of reforms in the power sector with several measures that went a long way in protecting the environment and ensuring sustainable development by conserving the natural resources and bringing electricity to the remotest possible corners of the country.

Since 2009, Prabhu has served as a member of the United Nations Commission for Biodiversity and land use change. He has also held the chair at the Global Water Partnership. He is the Chairman of the Asia Energy Foundation. Prabhu is a veteran speaker who has delivered lectures across the world on a number of areas such as energy, international affairs, environment, public policy and natural resources, the participants of the Best Corporate Citizen Award can look forward to an inspiring address.
