Chandula Abeywickrema, Chairman of the Banking With The Poor Network (BWTP-Asia) and the Managing Director/CEO CCC Solutions, fully owned subsidiary of Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, is among the key global industry leaders invited to speak at the Torino 2015, the ninth World Chambers Congress. Torino 2015 will be held in Turin, Italy from 10 to 12 June and will cover a wide area of emerging challenges to the global business and industry community.
Torino 2015 will have a key congress session on Finance of SMEs, where Chandula is expected to lead as the keynote speaker along with Daniel Bonzanini, Chairman of Factors Chain International, Charlotte Ruhe, Director Small Business Support of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Baybars Altuntas, Vice President, European Business Angels Network and Volker Terrier, Deputy Chief Executive, Association of German Chamber DIHK.
Access to finance for SMEs has never been more challenging during the past few years. As such new sources of financing have evolved from peer to peer leading, to business angle and innovative short-term business solution. The speaker of this key session shall provide a comprehensive view of financing for SMEs.
Chandula as industry leader in Asia from the perspective of financial inclusion for bottom of the pyramid and the SMEs, has been championing the need of banks and financial institutions to adopt a more inclusive, holistic and 360 degree approach for greater economic empowerment. Chandula in his keynote is expected to highlight the process involved in building capacity to make SMEs commercial bankable ready and critical challenges that need to be overcome.
