Charter House celebrates 20 years of leadership in the bathware industry with a record-breaking sales performance for Grohe products, having secured a growth of over 100% in 2010. During this period, Charter House has earned a reputation as the country’s number one provider of premium quality bathware and sanitary ware solutions.

The Vice President/Managing Director of Grohe India, Mathew Job visited Sri Lanka and had discussions with the management of Charter House on prospects for further developing the market for Grohe. He also made use of his time to visit the market and observe the excellent brand positioning done by Charter House.

With the dawn of peace in Sri Lanka, the country in general, and the construction industry, in particular have enjoyed the dividends of peace, with the construction industry developing at a rapid pace. Founded over 20 years ago as a trading company, Charter House has evolved to play a key role in the nation and the industry’s progress, and its banner results in 2010 are proof of its success. For example, the past year has witnessed record sales for the company, with over 50% of the contracts for bathware and sanitary ware solutions for large-scale Sri Lankan projects being won by Charter House, including the prestigious Emperor Apartments project which selected some of Grohe’s premium products.

The same year has also seen the groundbreaking launch by Charter House of Grohe’s Baulines series of fittings. The new range, which blends bold Bauhaus-inspired designs and premium quality materials with the most advanced German manufacturing techniques, makes luxury affordable for connoisseurs of class who are on a budget. The Baulines range will make a significant breakthrough in the mid-market segment, which was dominated by cheaper products from Italy and Spain. It is the latest addition to Grohe’s product offerings in Sri Lanka, all of which are exclusively available via Charter House.

The relationship between Charter House and Grohe has grown from strength to strength over the past 20 years, with the German sanitary fittings manufacturer enjoying a brand share of over 60% amongst premium branded sanitary fittings. Synonymous with setting new standards of quality, technology and design, Grohe is the world’s number one single-brand manufacturer of luxury sanitary fittings, so its resounding success in Sri Lanka comes as little surprise.

The German firm’s stylish sanitary fittings can be experienced by all patrons of fine design at the Charter House Lifestyle showroom on Havelock Road. Centrally located with ample parking, the showroom, which is one of the best Grohe showrooms in the South Asian region, displays all of Charter House’s luxurious products in all their grandeur. Customers can purchase these products at the showroom itself or through the company’s extensive island-wide dealer network.

Understanding the importance of providing world-class service to support its world-class products, Charter House has invested in an industry-best service centre, while focusing on maintaining and upgrading the technical knowledge of its skilled workforce.

Recognising the value-added services offered by Charter House, Job noted that the two companies shared a passion for giving customers the very best. As Charter House and Grohe continue their two decade-long partnership into 2011, they are promising to unveil dazzling new products that will redefine the luxury bathroom experience for discerning Sri Lankan consumers.
