A high-powered Chinese business delegation will arrive in Sri Lanka on Thursday to explore trade and investment opportunities in the country.
The 20-member delegation is organized by the Beijing Lansing Century Exhibition Company Ltd with the Promotion of International Trade Hangzhou Sub-Council, Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Liaoning Provincial Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shaoxing Committee.
The delegation’s visit to the country also coincides with the Construction Expo 2014 to be held in Colombo. The delegation hopes to meet partners in Sri Lanka to expand their businesses here in the country.
The visiting businessman represents product lines such as, Agricultural Machinery Parts, Angle Valve, Aromatherapy Equipment and Machines, Ball Mill, Block Machine, Block Making Machine, Braided Hose, Caterpillar Idlere 320, Concrete Batching Plant, Crusher, Energy Saving Lamps, Faucet Handles and Fittings etc.
Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will hold a business forum at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel with the participation of the visiting delegates on the 19th of June, 2014, while it would be followed by B2B meetings with the potential local partners.
With the contacts that could be made during the B2B sessions with the delegation from China, local businesses could reap the full potential of the proposed FTA to be signed between Sri Lanka and China in end 2014.
Many items are on offer under the proposed FTA, especially for the benefit of the construction industry. Therefore, this would be an ideal platform to establish new business linkages and also to further expand existing business contacts with leading companies in China.
