The 23rd Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 15 to 17 November 2013 which is a great opportunity for the Sri Lankan youth to get an extraordinary exposure to improve their leadership skills, diplomatic skills and gain wide knowledge on international affairs. The Commonwealth Youth Forum (CYF) 2013 which is to take place from 10 to 14 November at the Hambantota International Conference Hall in southern Sri Lanka is another opportunity extended to the Sri Lankan youth. This event organised jointly by Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development and the National Youth Services Council of Sri Lanka, is one of three parallel forums that will take place during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). “We must admire the leadership provided and confidence won by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to have an international conference of this nature in our motherland which is a life time opportunity to witness for many of us. I am proud to say that many Interactors from schools and Young Rotaractors were selected as volunteers to serve the delegates which will be a great opportunity for their future endeavours,” said Rtn. P.P. Marshad Barry, District Rotaract Committee Chairman 2013/14 Rotary International District 3220 Sri Lanka and Maldives.
