As Sri Lanka Telecom organises and hosts Sri Lanka’s first ever platform dedicated to recognising Digital Excellence - the SLT Zero One Awards. The spotlight also falls upon a number of other organisations providing their partnership and support to this worthy endeavour. 30 November 2016, has been announced as the final date for the submission of applications.
Following the launch of the SLT Zero One Awards program, two of the first organisations to join in this endeavour are the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM), who have joined hands with SLT as the Industrial Partners of the SLT Zero One Awards, to support the development of digital initiatives in Sri Lanka. Each of these organisations are well-known for their ability to make significant contributions in ensuring the success of Sri Lanka’s first-ever awards program for excellence in the field of digital technology.
As the world’s largest professional body for marketing, CIM is uniquely placed, not merely as a voice for the marketing community, but also as an active participant in shaping the future of both the profession and the industry. CIM enjoys a long-term partnership with SLT, as the latter has played the role of Strategic Partner for the Annual Conference for the past 16 years.
“We are pleased to partner with Sri Lanka’s premier ICT solutions provider Sri Lanka Telecom, to recognise outstanding individuals and organisations in digital excellence. I am confident that the Digital Excellence Awards will encourage more individuals and organisations to embrace Digital Marketing as a means of business growth,” said CIM Sri Lanka Vice Chairman Brian Selvanayagam.
SLASSCOM, the national chamber for the IT/BPM industry in the country, acts as the catalyst of growth for the industry in Sri Lanka. The organisation facilitates various sectors of the industry by supporting the creation of a progressive national policy framework. SLT and SLASSCOM came together when the company recently supported SLASSCOM’s technology forum and knowledge-sharing program themed ‘Tech Talk’. Both organisations are committed towards supporting the growth of the Sri Lankan IT and BPM industry.
“As the national knowledge and innovation chamber, SLASSCOM is pleased to support this initiative to recognise digital excellence. The Sri Lankan IT/BPM industry’s vision to embody a worth of $ 5b, creating 200,000 direct jobs and launching 1,000 start-ups requires platforms like this to appreciate and encourage forward-thinking individuals and institutions. I trust this will be a milestone event for Sri Lanka Telecom that will improve industry standards and empower tech innovations. I congratulate the organising team and award-winners on behalf of SLASSCOM,” stated SLASSCOM Chairman Arul Sivagananthan.
Speaking on the partnership with CIM and SLASSCOM, SLT Group Chief Marketing Officer Ajantha Seneviratne said, “The objective of the SLT Zero One Awards is to recognise and appreciate institutions and individuals as well as brands in their quest for excellence in the field of digital initiatives. So it was important to bring together all leading players and professional bodies like CIM and SLASSCOM, with insight into the challenges, ideas for solutions and aspirations for the future, to explore how we can collaborate on this shared goal of a smart society and therefore a smart Sri Lanka.”
Launched on 27 September 2016, the SLT Zero One Awards is scheduled to come to an end in January 2017 with the Grand Award Ceremony. Being the first awards program in Sri Lanka which recognises and rewards innovative initiatives in the field of digital, the awards will provide a platform by which talented digital enthusiasts may gain due recognition, encouragement and inspiration, thereby ensuring a bright and digitally enhanced future for our nation.
