CIM Future Marketers Conference 2012 on Saturday

The inaugural Future Marketers Conference of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Sri Lanka Region, will be held on 17 March 2012 at the Grand Ballroom, Galadari Hotel Colombo from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Student Committee of CIM Sri Lanka Region, comprising of 17 members who are students and practicing marketershave taken great stride to organise the inaugural conference, which is intended to become an annual event. The CIM Future Marketers Conference promises to be an extraordinary forum for learning, knowledge sharing and industry networking for CIM students, CIM members and industry professionals.

Under the theme ‘Decipher the Future of Marketing’ the full-day event will featurekey topics that would bepresented byfour renownedand respected guest speakers.Through thought-provoking dialogue and valuable insights, the conference intends to inspire attendees to discover their potential to lead the next generation of marketing in Sri Lanka. Former CEO of Aviva NDB Insurance PLC, Deepal Sooriyaarachchi will speak on the topic of ‘The Role of Personality Development’that would highlight the importance of character, confidence and discipline in fostering marketing success. Managing Director of CBL Foods International Pvt. Limited, Imal Fonseka will speak on ‘Leadership and Management in Marketing’ that would provide insights to marketerson how to be leaders and conduct oneself to achieve relational and strategic success.

Ranjan De Silva, Partner and Senior Management Consultant at Sensei International and Chief Executive Officer of Rahimafrooze Superstores Ltd. will speak on ‘Inter-disciplinary Marketing’ that would offer valuable knowledge to marketers on the multitude of skill set that could be applied to meet future challenges. Ravi Fernando, Operations Director at Malaysia Blue Ocean Strategy Institute (MBOSI) will speak on ‘Ethics and Sustainability in Marketing’, focusing onamarketer’s role in being abreast of the current global ethical trends and its impact towards business and the community at large.

The conference will conclude with a panel discussion that will evaluateexactly how CIM as an international qualification caters to emerging future trends of the evolving corporate world. The panelist will consist of five eminent professionals and lecturers in marketing, namely Dusty Alahakoon, Yasas Hewage, Failan Saleem, G.S. Sylvester and Mohamed Adamaly while Ravi Fernando will moderate the discussion.

Tickets for the Future Marketers Conference ispriced at Rs. 3,500, while CIM students could purchase tickets at a special discounted price of Rs. 2,000. Tickets could be purchased from the CIM Sri Lanka Regional Office, No. 20 Deal Place A, Colombo 3 or from any accredited CIM study centre.
