CIM presents Centenary Walk on Saturday

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Sri Lanka steps into its 100th Year celebrations in gala force and grandeur this year, as it embarks upon a host of festivities commencing with its Centenary Walk.

Scheduled to pave the way for a calendar of festivities to follow, the Centenary Walk will get on board on Sunday, 16 July, 2011, commencing 3.45 pm, at Reid Avenue, and will make its way through to Green Path. Charting the course will be Marketers who constitute the country’s apex marketing force.

Chitrangani Herat Gunaratne, Chairman, CIM Sri Lanka Region said, “We are delighted to be able to present 100 years of vibrance, as CIM steps into its Centenary Year. The Centenary Walk will lead the way for a calendar of activities that will aim to focus on the role of Marketing and its contribution to the organization. CIM has always led the way for Marketers globally and this year, we take pride in our contribution to the growth and development of Marketing as a key focus area in any organisation, as we prepare to gear up the Marketing fraternity for the challenges of the future”.

The 100 year celebrations aim to ear mark enhanced support and development of Marketing as a profession and connect closer with the market and the customer, to create greater agility of Marketing as a focus function across any organisation.

The pace of this agenda will heighten considerably throughout the year and will commence with the Centenary Walk, organised by the student committee of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region invites all Marketers to be a part of this celebration, along with families and friends.

To commemorate this significant milestone, the Centenary Walk begins with an aerial photo shoot scheduled for 3.45 p.m. at the Royal College basket ball court, followed by Walk proper, which will pace up at 4 p.m. from Reid Avenue, to be concluded at Green Path by 5p.m. The Centenary Walk will be followed by live entertainment, snacks, dinner, drinks, and not to forget, an evening of fellowship.

Supporting CIM in this worthy cause is Wijeya Newspapers — the Print media partner and MBC Networks, the Electronic media partner.

Celebration activities have been organised by the dynamic student’s council of CIM Sri Lanka Region and receives guidance from Anuradha Edirisinghe (Head of Education -CIM board member) and Amal Fernando (MC member – student committee).
