The CIM Talking Point titled ‘The Asian mother – how well do you know her?,’ organised by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Sri Lanka Region will be held on Wednesday, 24 October 2012 at the Palm Lounge, Galle Face Hotel from 6.00 p.m. onwards.

The presentation will be conducted by qualitative research expert Rinita Singh, Managing Director of the Quantum Group, Asia Pacific. Singh, who is based in Singapore, is actively involved in the group's business development and growth strategy across divisions and geographies.

She is a graduate of the Bombay University, India and of the Northwestern University, Illinois, USA. Prior to her role at Quantum, Rinita worked for J. Walter Thompson, India, where she obtained her first exposure to qualitative research and strategic thinking.

The Quantum Group has extensively researched mothers across Asia for different brands and categories through qualitative research and ethnography. The organisation has observed that a mother’s role, values and needs have transitioned under the influence of modern forces of change – both at a macro as well as a micro level.

The very idea of being a woman and the concept of motherhood has taken on a new meaning and a new face in the present day. Singh will discuss some of the key learning’s from these studies and conduct thought starters to stretch your perspectives during the presentation.

The program undoubtedly will help managers to discover how to create products, experiences and stories that would connect better with mothers through the findings from mothers across Asia.
