CIM tutor training workshop and HR forum with Ian Marshall today

Ian Marshall, Head of Intern-ational Education Partnership of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK, will be on a five-day official visit to Sri Lanka from 8 to 13 October 2012. Marshall is scheduled to conduct a tutor training workshop in order to enhance the knowledge of the lecturers with the new CIM syllabus during his visit.

The workshop will be held today,

12 October 2012 at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo and have over 30 lecturers representing the CIM Accredited Study Centers in the country, in attendance. The tutor training workshop will mainly focus on the assessment criterion and the CIM assignment administration procedures.

Marshall has also set an assignment to the lecturers prior to the event, in the form of noting down the challenges the Sri Lankan students’ face, in order to discuss and find appropriate solutions for key issues at the workshop.

He will call attention to several important facts, and explain how students should be briefed on an assignment, the necessity to encourage students to work on their own, and the methodology that should be used in their projects.

The event will be followed by a HR forum, where a presentation will be conducted by Marshall for corporate HR professionals to understand the importance of the CIM qualification and will demonstrate on how to benchmark the recruiting of marketing and sales professionals.

The forum will further reveal how qualified CIM professional marketers’ turnaround businesses amidst challenging environments, and list out those who are recognised as the driving forces behind key organisations.  The Chartered Institute of Marketing is the world’s largest and most prestigious professional body of marketing and the CIM Sri Lanka Region is the fastest growing CIM body, with nearly over 3000 members in Sri Lanka.  CIM examinations are held four times a year in Colombo and Kandy, while five accredited study centers offer the qualification in Colombo, Kandy and Jaffna.
