CIVIMECH awarded ISO9001:2008 certification

Receiving ‘ISO 9001: 2008 Certification’ from SLSI Director General Dr. L.N. Senaweera to M.D.V. Soysa, Chairperson of Civimech

CIVIMECH was recently awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification by the Sri Lanka Institute of Standards (SLIS). ISO 9001:2008 is the principal world-renowned system certification for quality and reliable service of a company. 

This certification ensures that quality management systems are in place, practiced and monitored throughout its process guaranteeing that the customers are receiving the highest products and services from CIVIMECH.

Established in 1982, CIVIMECH Ltd. has always been in the forefront of air conditioning installations and maintenance of air conditioners in Sri Lanka. CIVIMECH has been recognised as a progressive company in the air conditioning industry and has been rewarded for their commitment towards high quality air condition installing and maintenance throughout Sri Lanka.

“In addition from a customer’s perspective, it makes it possible for CIVIMECH to minimise wastage and other unnecessary costs and ensure that these savings translate down to customers,” said Dilusha Soysa, Director Finance of CVIMECH Group. Soysa added, that obtaining the ISO 9001:2008 also means that CIVIMECH has been proven for its adherence to a number of quality management principles, including strong customer focus, strong leadership and management involvement, a solid process approach, investment in high end technology and skilled labour and continuous focus on improvement.

The company commenced operations in 1982 under the leadership of Late Deshamanya Ravindra Soysa, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director and Durga Soysa as a Directress, and in 33 years they achieved great milestones in the air conditioning industry to become one of the market leaders in the central air conditioning project, handling Sri Lanka’s largest projects at present. CIVIMECH has handled the entire air conditioning installation of one of the largest buildings in Sri Lanka (Kandy shopping and office complex), one of the largest garment factories in Bingiriya and high rise apartment buildings. Currently it is involved in designing, supplying and installation of MVAC system for the Personal Identification Office at Battaramulla.

Soysa added that the company gained an excellent reputation for its innovative designs and specialised services, providing new and more economical solutions to the complex problems arising from the varying needs of different types of buildings for various industries.

The present management of the CIVIMECH Group of Companies is: Chair Durga Soysa, while Dhanusha and Dilusha Soysa function as the Managing Director and Director Finance respectively.

CIVIMECH has been awarded twice as ‘HVAC Contractor of the Year’ (2008 and 2011) by ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers) Sri Lankan Chapter 171. 

This award too was granted in recognition of professionalism, high quality project management, workmanship and after sales service and also introduction of new/latest technology to the air conditioning and refrigeration industry in the country. They are also certified under EM – 01 in MVAC field by ICTAD in the local industry.

The company is an authorised distributor in Sri Lanka for ‘Daikin,’ the leading worldwide supplier of air conditioning equipment, and also for many others reputed HVAC and allied manufactures.
