The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) held its 52nd AGM recently at the Hotel Taj Samudra. The Chief Guest of the event was the Secretary to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce Anura Siriwardena. He emphasised the various positive methods adopted by their respective local industries in many developed countries in order to achieve industrial development. Quoting Japan as an example, he said that the major factors which stimulated their industrial growth were productivity, sub contracting, innovations and research and development activities.
During the 52nd AGM of the Chamber Gamini Gunasekara was inducted as the New Chairman of the Chamber CNCI.
