CNCI launches Achiever Awards 2015

The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI), the foremost service facilitator to the Sri Lankan industry, had the official launch of its highly popular ‘Achiever Awards 2015 for Industrial Excellence’ and media briefing on 19 March at Hotel Taj Samudra. Addressing the gathering, CNCI Chairman Gamini Gunasekera said that the main objective of the Achiever Awards is to recognise the Sri Lankan industrialists who excel well achieving operational excellence and to reward them thereby encouraging them to go for further heights. The Judging Committee Chairman of the Achiever Awards and CNCI Deputy Chairman Tissa Seneviratne explaining the application and selection procedure highlighted 12 areas to be considered as criteria for assigning marks to determine the level of excellence, which basically cover the areas of Process Efficiency, Quality Standards, Business Ethics, Labour Relations and Social and Environmental Obligations. Maliban Biscuits Manufactories Ltd Sales and Marketing Chief Executive Officer Ravi Jayawardena, the Gold Award Winner of the Achiever Awards for the last two years consecutively, deeply explained about the importance of participating at the Achiever competition. He said that the participating companies should not necessarily aim at winning the award but what is important is to apply the expected standards of the selection criteria into their processes, which itself is a huge victory to achieve success. This unique and prestigious awards competition is open to the Sri Lankan industries operating in SAARC countries as well as the SAARC specific industries. These popular and highly acclaimed Achiever Awards have been rated as the benchmark of industrial excellence in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Telecom is the Principal Sponsor for Achiever Awards 2015 whereas Ceylinco Insurance PLC is the Co-Sponsor. Lake House and ITN are Media Sponsors.
