Colombo Dockyard delivers Platform/ROV Support Vessel Greatship Rashi

Colombo Dockyard recently delivered another Platform/ROV Support Vessel Greatship Rashi to Greatship (India) Limited (GIL), a subsidiary of The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited.

This is the fourth in the series and she will join her sister vessel Greatship Rohini which was delivered in February 2011.

Greatship Rashi is a state of the art, 78m Platform/ROV Support Vessel and is the 218th new ship that Colombo Dockyard has built and the 12th large and highly complex vessel that has built and delivered, since it internationalised its shipbuilding activities in 2006.

Greatship Rashi is a Class II DP vessel and has been built complying with the new SPS Code 2008 and Environmental Protection & Crew Comfort notations of Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, capable of supporting offshore exploration and production activities.

Greatship Rashi is specially fitted out for supporting two Work Class ROVs, 35 ton deep sea winch and A frame and 10 UT offshore crane.

Colombo Dockyard recently secured three more Platform/ROV Support Vessel order from Greatship Global Offshore Services Pte Ltd in Singapore with delivery times extending up to end September 2012.
