Commercial bankers to discuss ‘Access to Finance’ at SME forum

Three senior banking executives will take the stage of the upcoming National Forum on SME Empowerment, organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, to discuss ‘Lending’ to the SME sector.
Accordingly, NDB CEO R. Theagarajah, Sampath Bank CEO Aravinda Perera and HNB CEO Jonathan Alles will sit for a plenary session, which will be held under the title of ‘Making Financial Services Accessible, Available and Affordable – A commercial banker’s perspective”.
The banking trio will be joined by Arjuna Herath, who is a partner at Ernst and Young and also the President of the ICASL.
Sabaragamuwa Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry Past President Chamlee Gunaseele too will join in the discussion to examine the topic from the perspective of the country’s SME sector.
The ‘National Forum on Small and Medium Enterprises Empowerment 2014’ will be held on 13 and 14 October in Colombo and will discuss the current status of the local SME sector and its way forward.
