A conference on ‘Fundamentals of Colour’ and an evaluation to communication in a global supply chain will be held today (9 August) from 9a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel, Colombo.

Director at Cassims International Shums Cassim said: “We are very pleased to be organising this conference with high profile speakers and educators confirmed to attend. The full day registration is available at a subsidised rate to Sri Lankan colourists involved in all sectors and is an invaluable opportunity to further individual knowledge as well as bring about best practice solutions for colour in their business.”

Major international and local brands as well as many export oriented manufacturers have already registered for the event. Interested participants have a last opportunity to register at this very special and important learning event.

Having seen the need to enhance the understanding of colour, at an emotional level as understood in product design, it is also believed that Sri Lanka has much to gain and learn from the science of colour.

Following the success of forums around the world Cassims International together with partners X-rite, Gretag Macbeth, Munsell and Pantone have organised a colour conference aimed at bringing about an understanding on fundamentals of colour.

Key speakers and trainers flying in from the USA and around Asia will speak on key facets of colour, educating participants on the theoretical and practical aspects of colour and tools now affordably available to solve the needs in the colouration industry.

The program is aimed at providing an in depth and comprehensive training on colour physics. The one day conference type program is useful for all industries including fashion, textiles, paint, architectural, automotive, print, packaging, accessories, digital graphics, imaging, and professional photography.

X-Rite, Incorporated is the global technology leader for colour management systems and solutions. X-Rite operates in the segments of Colour Measurement and Colour Standards and are recently represented in Sri Lanka by Cassims International.

The company’s technologies assist manufacturers, brand owners, retailers and distributors in achieving colour and appearance consistency throughout their global supply chain. Products also assist printing companies, graphic designers and professional photographers in achieving colour reproduction of images across a range of devices. The company’s products also provide retailers colour harmony solutions at point of purchase.

Pantone has been the world’s colour authority for nearly 50 years, providing design professionals with products and services for the colourful exploration and expression of creativity. Always a source for colour inspiration, Pantone also offers paint and designer-inspired products and services for consumers.

The full day conference will provide colour solutions for evaluation, measurement, design, formulation, application and communication – steps in achieving colour consistency through supply chains and through colour reproduction.

“There is no doubt that in today’s complex and challenging marketplace, colour has the unique ability to attract and engage the eye, elicit emotion, enhance the product or environment, and ultimately tempt the consumer or client. Colour is, in fact, the catalyst that can spark a sale, define space and create the magic and the mood,” Cassims International said.
