COYLE Ladies Chapter AGM emphasises satisfaction of giving

The eighth AGM of the COYLE Ladies Chapter (CLC), founded in 2005, is affiliated to the Chamber of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs (COYLE) as its social service arm, took place on 14 July at the Eagle Room, Waters Edge, attended by its members, distinguished invitees and well-wishers. The outgoing Chairperson Dilshari De Silva delivered her address making a detailed presentation of the works completed over the year, which is a proud testimony of continued good works of CLC led by the dynamic executive committee of CLC 2012 -2013. Chairperson Dilshari De Silva in her address listed out the various community projects undertaken. She stated: “CLC’s Social Service Arm has continuously and successfully completed a range of social service projects aimed at the welfare of needy sectors in our society.  CLC funds non-profit organisations and public agencies that support its charitable goals. The Chamber’s primary philanthropic focus centres on public education, community improvement and poverty alleviation. Within these areas, CLC is committed to supporting projects that have the greatest impact on our communities and align with its core business — home improvement.” CLC believes that education is the cornerstone to building bright futures and stronger communities. Its long-established commitment to improving educational opportunities is best exemplified by its contribution towards IT literacy and other education grant programs. Others who addressed the gathering were COYLE Chairman Wasantha De Silva and Chief Guest Savithri Wijesekara, Executive Director – Women In Need. Gayathri Jayasinghe was appointed Chairperson elect for the year 2013/2014.
