CSR Lanka announced plans to partner with MVO Nederland (CSR Netherlands) to bring a unique training opportunity to thirty of Sri Lanka’s leading CSR specialists later this month. MVO Nederland is the largest CSR business network in Europe, and renowned as a knowledge centre for CSR. The workshop, which will be restricted by invitation to members of CSR Lanka, as well as few select corporate entities involved in long-term CSR will provide exclusive and tailor-made training and knowledge exchange by two global experts. The two-day workshop is scheduled to begin on 30 September. “Partnering with one of the world’s biggest and most respected CSR facilitators is a great opportunity for CSR Lanka,” said CSR Lanka Chairman Chandula Abeywickrema. “This is a chance for us to develop overall strategies that will benefit the country as well as all our member companies to ensure better success rates and greater community involvement.” “CSR is a cornerstone of Dutch economic diplomacy,” says Ambassador Louis Piët. “Investors and traders from The Netherlands have realised that People, Planet and Profit have to be balanced for a sustainable future for all. That is why the embassy is sponsoring this initiative.” The knowledge-exchange workshop will cover a range of topics including, best global practices in CSR, research and analyses from studies by both CSR Lanka and MVO Nederland, strategies and the way forward for CSR Lanka and participating companies. The sessions will be facilitated by Bernedine Bos, the head of projects department at MVO Nederland and Monique Boere, the communications manager for international CSR at MVO Nederland. With a career spanning over two decades in social work and CSR, Bos has worked with MVO Nederland for the past 10 years in sustainable development and international CSR. She has represented MVO Nederland on numerous occasions around the globe and is an opinion leader for international CSR. Boere has worked in sustainability and development communications for the last decade, with extensive experience working in marketing and advertising focused on sustainability. This visit will coincide with the CSR Lanka Conference to be held the following day. Organised as a forum for member companies and other participants, the Conference will feature Wayne Visser, a leading global authority on CSR, having worked with Top 100 global sustainability leaders, Top 100 CSR leaders and the Top 20 sustainability leaders.
