Dealer of the Year – PCL Solutions outperforms international companies 

PCL Solutions won the Dealer of the Year 2010 award for its outstanding sales of medical waste incinerator, Mediburn, produced by Elastec American Marine.

The international award was presented to PCL Solutions Health Care Sales Manager Sampath Kularatne, at an event in Illinois, USA. Being the sole agent in Sri Lanka, PCL Solutions secured the award by outperforming Mediburn agents from 16 other countries, some of which have much larger distribution channels. The award was presented to PCL Solutions when two of its employees were attending a training session with the principal company in the USA. 

Speaking about this phenomenal achievement, PCL Solutions General Manager said Thushantha Karunanayake, “It is commendable for a small country like Sri Lanka to surpass countries like Australia, Russia, Germany, South Korea, the United Kingdom, France, India and China for Mediburn sales.”

“In a span of two and a half years, we have been able to introduce the Mediburn mobile medical waste incinerator to several hospitals in Sri Lanka,” said Kularatne adding, “With this award, our achievement has been prominently recognised. This will create awareness in Sri Lanka of the importance of medical waste incineration and the unique abilities and value of the Mediburn.”  PCL Solutions was influential in introducing the first ever mobile incinerator to Sri Lanka, two and a half years ago, and since then 12 hospitals, both government and private, have acquired a Mediburn to ensure safe and environmentally friendly disposal of hazardous medical waste. PCL Solutions also prides itself on after sales services and technical support.

Mediburn takes up minimal space, is mobile, economical and generates fewer emissions. The device safely and efficiently destroys various types of medical waste such as body parts, placentas, chemical waste, pharmaceutical waste, syringes, catheters, cannulas etc.

It is the widest selling medical waste incinerator in the world, and has received clearance from the Central Environment Authority in addition to being emission tested by a governmental body.
