Deccan launches ‘Ready.Jet.Go’ private, corporate aircraft service

Deccan Aviation Lanka yesterday announced the launch of a dedicated service to operate and maintain aircraft for private owners.

The airline’s ‘Ready.Jet.Go’ package is expected to cater to the small but growing fleet of private planes and helicopters that are slowly coming into the country after the end of the war.

According to the company, ‘Ready.Jet.Go’ offers clients services ranging from purchase guidance, to operating the aircraft under the Deccan airline license and will provide a boost to new entrants to the industry and to the development of the long dormant domestic aviation sector.

“Around the world, individuals and companies that own aircraft do not usually have their own license nor do they need one. With the ‘Ready.Jet.Go’ service, owners do not have to have a hangar, or hire their own pilots, obtain a license and bear the huge fixed costs, but simply hand over the aircraft to us for those functions,” Deccan Aviation Lanka Group Director and CEO Denham Schokman said.

“When the aircraft is not used by the owner for private use, Deccan will turn their asset into revenue by chartering it out to others,” he added.

Deccan’s tailor made service is expected to make ownership of private aircraft easier in an industry that is heavily regulated.
