Among the objectives of such collaboration is strengthening international anti-corruption co-operation, preventing and struggling corruption in gaming, on the basis of mutual respect and equality. The ‘Declaration of Global Responsible Gaming’ recognises gaming activity, as normal behaviour in human society, functioning to entertain and finance public welfare; to reduce the negative effects to the extent acceptable to society on a reasonable basis, whilst enjoying the positive effects of financing social welfare activities; right to know gaming regulations and rules; to prevent from being damaged of gambling disorders; individuals, organisation, agency or country not to encroach upon the benefit of other person or country, or violate legitimate rights and interest, or damage the social order, with the right of persons to receive warning education on the negative effects of gaming. In the United States of America, the Nevada State Gaming Control Board and Gaming Commission has laid down detail regulations for the conduct of all types of gaming and ensures the enforcement thereof. With the current endeavours to develop gaming activities in Sri Lanka, in the midst of various types of gaming having sprung-up countrywide, this collaboration on the ‘Declaration of Global Responsible Gaming’ and its objectives are very timely at this juncture in this country.
