Deepal joins Singer Main Board

Singer Sri Lanka recently announced the appointment of top business professional and respected marketing expert Deepal Sooriyaarachchi as an independent director to its Main Board.

He currently serves on the Boards of BUP_DFT_DFT-2-9 Sampath Bank PLC, AIA Insurance Lanka PLC, Pan Asian Power PLC and Hemas Manufacturing Ltd.

Deepal has a proven track record as a seasoned executive and business advisor with nearly three decades extensive experience in marketing, value enhancement strategies, operations, human resource and general management.

He is currently consulting for the RBL Group USA and MAGI India. The RBL Group USA is a consulting and development firm, experts in building talent, transforming HR and shaping organisations while MAGI Research and Consultants India help clients manage complex business challenges from strategy to execution.

Deepal has held a series of high profile roles and brings a wealth of experience which will be invaluable to Singer Sri Lanka. Among these is the pivotal role he played at AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (formerly CTC Eagle Insurance) in building brands, managing change, establishing value adding CSR programs, and developing human capital of the organisation that lead to continued business success.

He has chaired several national bodies including his appointment as Commissioner Sri Lanka Inventors Commission and President, Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing contributing to a number of national initiatives.

Deepal is in demand as a speaker at prestigious industry seminars and conferences and regularly participates in national TV programs as a resource person on a range of topics from management to building values.

He has received wide spread recognition and is the recipient of several awards for this contribution to management. He has authored many books, publications and journals on management and thought leadership and regularly contributes to leading newspapers, magazines both in Sinhala and English.

Deepal holds an MBA from the PIM, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is also a Chartered Marketer and was awarded a Fellowship (FCIM) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).
