Deputy Minister Faiszer Musthapha inspects Seethawaka EPZ

Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion Faiszer Musthapha has taken immediate action to look after basic requirements of the employees who are working in the Seethawaka Export Processing Zone (SEPZ) which is coming under the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.
Deputy Minister Faiszer Musthapha made an inspection visit to the SEPZ on Thursday with senior officials of the Ministry of Investment Promotion and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.
The Deputy Minister also urged the authorities to upgrade the Fire Fighting Division of the Seethawaka Zone during the meeting with the employees. He also emphasised the officials on the overseas tour opportunities for the employees.
The Seethawaka Export Processing Zone (SEPZ) which was started by the Industrial Development Ministry in 1999 is situated 47 kilometres from Colombo and was brought under the administration of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka in the year 2001. The total land extent of 431 acres of the Seethawaka Export Processing Zone includes 180 acres allocated for the Industrial Zone.
During the visit Deputy Minister Faiszer Musthapha also met the investors of the zone. The investors expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Minister for his active participation and interest in the zone.
The Deputy Minister also inspected some factories in the Zonal area. Senior officials of the Seethawaka Zone Athula Jayasinghe, U. Sirigampala, H.G.B.P.V. Silva and Board Member of BOI Channa Palansuriya also joined the inspection activities.
