Devasurendra appointed Dankotuwa Porcelain Deputy Chairman

Ajith Devasurendra has been appointed to the Board of Dankotuwa Porcelain Plc as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chairman with effect from 6 February.

The company also announced that A.G. Weerasinghe has resigned from the Directorate with effect from 31 January2017.

Devasurendra is a veteran in the financial services industry and counts over 32 years’ experience in Sri Lanka and overseas. As one of the pioneers in the money markets, he was able to bring in a new dimension to the local money market industry. He acted as a Consultant to PricewaterhouseCoopers, Bombay on a USAID project.

He is the Chairman of South Asia Textile Industries Lanka Ltd, Deputy Chairman of Taprobane Holdings Plc and Director of Ceylon Hotels Corporation Plc.

With the changes, the new Board of Dankotuwa Porcelain Plc comprises R.N. Asirwatham (Chairman), Mangala Boyagoda, Sanjeev Gardiner, P.P. Maddumage, Sarinda Unamboowe, R.T. Devasurendra, Murali Prakash and Ajith Devasurendra.
