Dialog Enterprise powers CMI’s inaugural Management Quiz

Dialog Enterprise has joined the Chartered Management Institute’s Sri Lanka Branch as the Platinum sponsor for their inaugural Management Quiz to be conducted on 14 June at the Hilton Residencies. The CMI Sri Lanka Branch is organising the first ever Management Quiz with a view to encouraging the growing enthusiasm for quizzing in Sri Lanka and to develop better led and better managed organisations which is one of the main objectives of the Chartered Management Institute. Event will create more awareness and knowledge on management as a subject amongst Sri Lankans. CMI will work with the International Quizzing Association (IQA) Sri Lanka, that has been conducting many table quizzes over the past decade and all questions for this inaugural Management Quiz will be set up by IQA’s country representative for Sri Lanka based on the standards of the World Quizzing Association.                         The event will take the form of a team quiz, where the quiz master will read out the question, twice over and the team members will discuss among them and decide on the answer and write it on an answer script. There will be five rounds of questions with 10 in each round. These will also include visuals/video clip-based questions and will cover the following focus areas: History/development of management as a science, management concepts and practices, famous personalities in management, management literature and entertainment (movies, books, documentaries etc), famous corporations and institutions, current affairs and enterprise solutions. CMI has decided to open this quiz to teams from professional education institutes, banks, finance companies, insurance companies, government organisations, ICT companies, audit firms, other mercantile sector companies, BPO companies and teams formed by Quiz enthusiasts Prudential Shipping Lines will support this ground-breaking initiative, as a gold sponsor while the Daily FT has teamed up with CMI as the print media partner. The winners will be receive a cash award of Rs. 150,000 and the CMI Management Quiz 2014 trophy, while the runners up will receive a cash prize of Rs. 100,000 and a trophy followed by a prize of  Rs. 50,000 for the 3rd placed team. As the quiz will have to be limited to a maximum of 50 (fifty) teams, applications are now being accepted by CMI Sri Lanka on a first come first served basis. Email [email protected].
