Dialog Enterprise, the corporate solutions arm of Dialog Axiata PLC, is offering Sri Lankan corporates the ‘Touch Corporate Fuel Card’ – an option of a virtually paperless system for the management of their corporate fuel allowances and bills, which eliminates the chances of fraudulent activity and enables the provision of timely information on fuel transactions to users.
This innovative technology was pioneered in Sri Lanka by Dialog Axiata PLC through a strategic partnership with Millennium Information Technologies Ltd. and ATSL International Ltd.
Near Field Communication
Near Field Communication (NFC) is an emerging technology that makes life easier and more convenient for consumers around the world by making it simpler to carry out transactions, exchange digital content, and connect electronic devices with a simple touch.
An NFC Fuel Card empowered user simply needs to tap his/her NFC Fuel card at a POS (Point of Sale) terminal at selected LIOC retail outlets (Lanka Indian Oil Company) or at any LAUGFS fuel station and save the hassle of filling out, signing and handing over forms, which would then need to be tabulated.
The user would be notified of the transaction immediately via SMS (Short Message Service), confirming the transaction. Administrators at the company, the fuel supplier and users can also simply log into the Dialog Touch Fuel Management System and monitor the data, which would be available instantly, whilst predetermined times and limits could also be fed into the system. The automated system will reduce administration time from as much as 30 days to the time it takes to execute a simple click of a button.
Increased efficiency
Already 100 corporate customers of Dialog Enterprise are enjoying this service, which has led them to witness increased efficiencies, conveniences and reduced costs in-terms of corporate fuel management. This service is available through a rapidly expanding list of stations at LAUGFS and LIOC, which currently totals 100 fuel stations island wide. Customers can enjoy the convenience of pumping fuel to their vehicles from any of these stations.
“The NFC fuel card system has enabled Ansell to streamline its fuel usage tracking mechanism with convenience with paperless process. Further, we are able to optimise fuel usage through the detailed real time data with a click of a button,” commented the Financial Controller of Ansell Lanka.
“It is quite an effective way to handle fuel logistics. This card could be quite useful for companies with a fleet of vehicles as it’s real time plus reduces unnecessary paper work,” said Harith Perera, Managing Director of Diethelm Travel Sri Lanka (Part of Hemas Group PLC).
Innovative solutions
“The NFC smartcard fuel management solution developed by Dialog represents the next wave of telecommunication innovations which will lead to enhanced productivity, efficiency and convenience to customers,” said Jerry Huxtable, Chief Officer at Dialog Enterprise.
“Dialog will continue to present innovative NFC based solutions to our customers and provide the richest solution portfolio in the region.”
