Discussion on Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka and Switzerland

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will hold a presentation/discussion on ‘Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka and Switzerland’ on Wednesday 31 October 2012 from 1500h to 1630h at the  Chamber Auditorium,  450 D.R. Wijewardene  Mawatha, Colombo  10.



The Special Guest will be Thomas Litscher, the Ambassador of Switzerland, who will be accompanied by Kurt Meier, Counsellor/Head of Chancery of the Embassy of Switzerland. He will speak on the current business trend, trade potential, opportunities for export, import, investment/and other services available for Sri Lankans with Switzerland.

Switzerland’s imports from Sri Lanka in 2011 consisted primarily of machines, equipment and electronics, textiles and shoes, as well as precious metals, gemstones and semi-precious stones. During the same period, Switzerland exported mainly machinery, equipment, electronics and chemicals.

Exportable products list of Sri Lanka are aquarium fish, aqua culture and sea food, coconut and coconut products, footwear and leather products, agricultural produce, handloom textile products, rubber and rubber products, food beverages and edible oil, tea, spices, apparel and accessories.
