Discussion on Lanka, Romania economic and commercial relations

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold a presentation/discussion on ‘Bilateral Economic and Commercial Relations between Sri Lanka and Romania’ on Wednesday, 25 April 2012, from 3.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. at the Chamber Auditorium, No. 450, D.R. Wijewardena Mw, Colombo 10



The Guest Speaker will be the Ambassador/Charge d’affairs of the Romanian Embassy in Sri Lanka Dr. Victor Chiudjea. He will speak on the current business trends, trade potential, opportunities for export and import, investment and other services for Sri Lankan businesses in Romania.  

Participants will also have an opportunity to interact with the Charge d’affairs and officials of the Embassy and get first-hand information on economic and commercial relations between Sri Lanka and Romania and on business related issues when doing business with Romania.

Major exports to Romania from Sri Lanka consist of electrical and electrical equipment and parts, rubber and rubber products, animal or vegetable fats and oils and their by-products, articles of apparel and clothing accessories - knitted or crocheted, inorganic chemicals, prepared animal fodder, palm oil and its fractions, articles of paper board, paper pulp, live fish, articles of iron and steel etc.

Main imports from Romania to Sri Lanka include articles of iron and steel, articles of apparel, special woven or tufted fabric, lace, stranded wire, robes, cables, inorganic chemicals, precious metal compound, refrigerators, freezers and electrical equipment, coffee, tea, mace, spices etc.
