Dotel Oya achieves top price for medium grown BOP grade

Dotel Oya Estate has been consistently producing a high standard of leafy orthodox teas which has resulted in Dotel Oya Estate regularly obtaining top prices at the Colombo Tea Auctions.
At the recently concluded Tea Auctions of 12 November 2013, Dotel Oya estate had the proud distinction of obtaining a top price of Rs. 720 per kilogram for a BOP grade not only in the Western Medium Grown category but also in the whole of the Western Planting Districts. This line of tea was purchased by Heritage Teas Ltd.
Dotel Oya Estate is situated in the Sabaragamuwa Province in the Kegalle Administrative district. At an elevation of around 3000 feet above mean sea level.
Dotel Oya Estate was established as a tea plantation in the year 1928 and the first Superintendent of this Estate was A. Wiggin and presently Dotel Oya Estate comes under the stewardship of Chandana Priyashantha who is responsible for bringing Dotel Oya Estate to this standard.
Eastern Brokers Ltd. are the brokers associated with the sale of Dotel Oya Teas. Dotel Oya Estates come under the Management of RPC Management Services Ltd., of Richard Pieris Group of Companies.
