DP Jayasinghe gets main piling deal for Mihindupura Housing Project at Edmonton Road

DP Jayasinghe Piling Company Ltd., a trendsetter in the construction industry, was selected as the main piling contractor for the Mihindupura Housing Project, initiated under the Janasevana National Housing Development Program.

The construction of the $ 5 million project is currently underway at the site in Edmonton Road, Kirulapone. The project work was executed by CDC Infrastructure Ltd., an Indian expert in infrastructure development, under the auspices of the National Housing Development Authority. Constructions are conducted under two categories – development of the sub structure and construction of the super structure. Accordingly, DP Jayasinghe Piling Company Ltd. was named as the main contractor for the development of the sub structure of the high-rise project.

Initiated in July this year, 30% of the four month piling contract has already been completed, with the rest to be completed by the end of October. And the entire housing complex is slated to be completed by 2017. Commenting on the venture, Upali Jayasinghe, Chairman of DP Jayasinghe Piling Company, said: “We are not aiming to be just another piling company.
