Dunsinane and Mt. Vernon Estates achieve all time record prices

Dunsinane estate, Punduloya achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 550 for a BP1 grade in the Western High Grown CTC category at the Weekly Tea Auctions held on 10 January 2017. Dunsinane estate is situated in the Dimbula Planting district at an elevation of 1,400 metres above sea level and is Rainforest Alliance, ISO 22000 – food, safety and hygiene management standard certified. 

This factory is managed by Elpitiya Plantations Plc and has been producing over a million kilograms of high quality CTC teas consistently. The above line was purchased by Heritage Teas Ltd. and was marketed by Forbes & Walker (Tea Brokers) Ltd. 

Mt. Vernon estate, Patana also achieved a record price of Rs. 550 for a BP1 grade in the Western High Grown CTC category at the Weekly Tea Auctions, surpassing its previous record price of Rs. 540 achieved in October 2016. 

This line of tea was purchased by Heritage Teas Ltd. and was marketed by Forbes & Walker (Tea Brokers) Ltd. Mt. Vernon estate is situated in the Kotagala agro climatic district in the Dimbula Planting district at an elevation of 1,188 metres above sea level. This estate is certified under ISO 22000 – food, safety and hygiene management standard and produces over a million kilogrammes of high quality CTC teas annually. Mt. Vernon estate is managed by Kotagala Plantations Plc.
