‘5th Power Sri Lanka 2011 International Expo’ next week

The ‘5th Power Sri Lanka 2011 International Expo’ — a comprehensive premier international exhibition on power generation and transmission, PV power, energy and renewable energy – will be held from 16-18 June at the SLECC.

CEMS-Global, Conference & Exhibition Management Services Ltd. USA and CEMS Lanka, the multinational exhibition organiser since 1992, with its operations in seven countries and organising over 30 exhibitions per annum, in its efforts to organise the most important and much-needed trade shows in South and South-East Asia, is bringing the premier international ‘Power Series of Exhibitions’ to Sri Lanka.



On the same dates, concurrent exhibitions will also be held, of which are ‘Renewable Energy Sri Lanka 2011 Int’l Expo’ and ‘E-Power Sri Lanka 2011 Int’l Expo,’ focusing on electric power equipment and technology.

Sri Lanka had also held such an exhibition earlier, and this is the second time the exhibition is held in the country. However this exhibition is the fifth in the series to be held.

With the above three exhibitions in one go, it will be one comprehensive exhibition focused not only on the entire power and energy sector in Sri Lanka but will also cater to the needs of power and energy for the entire industrial sector in the country.

‘5th Power Sri Lanka 2011 International Expo’ is endorsed by the Ministry of Power and Energy and the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and the Chief Guest for the exhibition will be Minister Power and Energy Champika Ranawaka. The co-partner of the exhibition is SUZLON.

CEMS-Global’s ‘Power Series Exhibitions’ is an international branded series focused in South and South-East Asia and is held annually in Bangladesh, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.Sarwar also added that the last time the exhibition was held in Sri Lanka there were 35 exhibitors which were good, and this year they expect a 15 to 20 per cent increase in exhibitors.

“It is not just the exhibitors we have people inquiring after this exhibition from various parts of the world who want to view the exhibition, get a feel of the market and look for partners, meet the BOI and other departments and the significance of such exhibitions is for the people to see what is being exhibited but also for people to network and meet other entrepreneurs and companies who are looking for partners and thinking of investing in Sri Lanka.”

This exhibition will bring together under one roof all stakeholders in the power and energy industry and a significant leap can be taken in Sri Lanka’s power and energy sector by close interaction between the exhibitors from over 10 countries and the local entrepreneurs leading to successful partnerships and joint-ventures to accomplish the Government’s vision of fulfilment of people’s aspirations and successfully facing the challenges of the sector.

With the ever-growing power and energy needs of Sri Lanka thus making a need to explore newer opportunities in the power, energy, PV (Photo Voltaic) and renewable energy sectors of Sri Lanka, ‘5th Power Sri Lanka 2011 International Expo’ will be the perfect platform for the entire power and energy industry of Sri Lanka including Sri Lankan industry stakeholders who will attend and avail of the opportunity to see the latest technologies and innovations in the power generation and energy sector thus delivering a great networking opportunity.

The Government also wants to seek new technology with emphasis on tapping the alternative energy sources for power generation which would take a big load off our existing reserves used for generation of power.

Besides exhibitors from over 10 countries, there will also be visitors coming to Sri Lanka from different parts of the World to visit the ‘5th Power Sri Lanka 2011 International Expo’ to familiarise themselves with the power and energy sector of Sri Lanka and see the investment climate where the Government is encouraging foreign investments in the power and energy sector.

‘5th Power Sri Lanka 2011 International Expo’ is also giving a special emphasis on renewable energy, PV power with its concurrent exhibitions, for encouraging investment in this sector to generate electricity from renewable sources to meet an ever-growing demand and lessen the dependency on existing resources.
