‘My Cola’ thirsts for 10% market share

Manufacturers and marketers of My Cola range of beverages and Cristal drinking water - My Beverages Marketing Ltd - held its awards presentation ceremony for the crème de le crème of their sales force at the Waters Edge on Monday.

The prime objective of this awards ceremony of the “My Cola Marathon 2010 Sales Contest” was orchestrated to motivate and reward its sales force and to recognise excellence in their work.

“My Cola Marathon 2010” is the brainchild of Mahalingam Sarmaa, Managing Director of My Beverages Marketing Ltd. The valuable awards at the “My Cola Marathon 2010” ranged from motor cycles, laptops, LCD TV, Blackberry phones and trophies worth over half a million Rupees.

“We believe in recognising and rewarding excellence, and at My Beverages Marketing we consider our employees as our biggest asset” said Sarmaa. “Quality and improvement is our priority. Hence, our steady market growth is the evidence of our commitment, loyalty, courage, efficiency and effectiveness towards the growth of our business” continued Sarmaa. “Our vision is to achieve 10% market share by 2015 and we also have plans for expansion in the near future” he added.

My Beverages Marketing Ltd markets Cristal bottled drinking water and the My Cola range of beverages to the Sri Lanka and Maldives market. Cristal bottled drinking water was introduced to the market in 1994 with the commissioning of a state of the art bottle manufacturing facility in Kadawatha together with a filling line in Medamahanuwara in Kandy. My Beverages Marketing is currently the biggest bottled water exporter in Sri Lanka and the biggest water supplier to the Sri Lanka market. Cristal is a well established brand and popular amongst its consumers.

With the success of Cristal bottled water, My Beverages Marketing Company launched My Cola range of beverages in 2004. Cruising with success whilst competing effectively with multi-national giants both in Sri Lanka as well as the Maldives, My Beverages Marketing currently holds an impressive market share in the soft beverage market which it had gained during a very short span of time. A truly Sri Lankan product - My Cola beverages are manufactured solely in Sri Lanka.

“We have gained 6% market share in a highly competitive market in a very short span of six years” said Yohan De Silva, Head of National Sales at My Beverages Marketing. “We are confident that we will grow our market share to a dominating position over the years as our products are high quality premier products in the market” he further added.

My Beverages Marketing considers high quality as a priority and maintains stringent quality in the manufacturing process in order to give a fresh product to its valued customers at all times.

The company has a distributor network comprising 60 distributors island wide and it has offered direct employment opportunities to 300 employees and indirectly to 600 people. My Beverages Marketing plans to make this award ceremony an annual event.
