The Ministry of Power and Energy along with Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA) will host ‘Vidulka 2011’ at the BMICH from August 11 to 14. Vidulka is featured as a comprehensive event on power and energy and will feature popular energy technologies, products and services. The event has been conceptualised to match the national goals in renewable energy and energy efficiency.

‘Vidulka 2011’ will have three key features – the exhibition, a symposium and Sri Lanka National Energy Efficiency Awards.

The exhibition will host some 150 exhibitors both local and foreign covering energy sector industrialists, manufacturers, suppliers and innovators. Technocrats will showcase high efficient technologies and equipment as well. The symposium will also be held on three days starting 12 August. The first day will be dedicated to school children. Highlights for day one include registration of the School Energy Conservation Clubs and awarding certificates to winners of the pre-held art competition on ‘How to Survive in an Oil-Less World’. Day two, which would see the presentation of research papers on energy management, has been titled ‘Energy Conscious Nation,’ while day three will be titled ‘Greener Sri Lanka’. Three selected best research papers will be awarded cash prices and published by the SLSEA.

The Sri Lanka National Energy Efficiency Awards, also to be held alongside the exhibition and symposium, will honour and recognise efforts for energy conservation by private and public sector establishments.
