The Export Development Board (EDB) last week launched a self-service information kiosk, EDB Info Point, to facilitate walk-in visitors to promptly obtain information of its services.
The use of the EDB Info Point will help exporters, potential exporters and the general public who visit EDB to obtain information about intended services such as product exports, market trends and trade statistics and to find a relevant contact point to acquire their requirements in an effective and efficient manner.
The self-service information kiosk facilitates easy access to information on the registration of exporters, trade information, products, exports services and market information, e-business services, publications and training courses and advisory services and export licenses.
The EDB Info Point service is available at the NDB-EDB Tower, ground floor and operates on weekdays from 8.00 a.m-6.00 p.m.
Speaking at this occasion, EDB Chairperson Indira Malwatte said the system would provide the basic information to any potential exporter and was available in all three languages.
“All these initiatives are unveiled to speed up the process and encourage exports as well as to earn the much needed foreign exchange to build our nation,” she added.
EDB, the apex body responsible for the promotion of exports from Sri Lanka, has been facilitating, promoting, monitoring and advising on policies and especially providing knowhow for exporters to achieve 2017’s objectives aligning with the Government’s goals. (CDS)
