The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) with the Sri Lanka Embassy in Poland yesterday welcomed the inward trade delegation from Poland visiting Sri Lanka to explore trade opportunities between the two countries.
Leszek Lazarczyk, Chairman/CEO accompanied by Sourcing Directors Anna Dziedzic and Anna Guzowska, from Linter Group, Poland, are in town until Saturday.
Linter Group is a founder member of the Polish Chamber of Commerce based in Katowice, Poland and had started its operations in 1988. The Group has 16 companies spread across Morocco, Estonia, Mongolia, Slovakia and Russia, other than Poland.
According to the Sri Lanka Embassy in Poland they wish to establish partnership with the Sri Lankan companies in the areas of gems and jewellery, porcelain, leather products, tea, Ayurveda, energy and herbal products.
The delegation said on behalf of the Linter Group and Polish Chamber of Commerce based in Katowice, Poland, they would like to thank Ambassador D.S. De Silva for convincing them of the rich opportunities available in Sri Lanka and for making all arrangements to visit Sri Lanka.
“We would also like to thank the Sri Lanka Export Development Board for all their time and effort in the arrangements made and for assisting us in meeting exporters in business brands such as leather accessories, tea, Ayurveda and herbal medicine, porcelain products and gems and jewellery,” the delegation said.
During its stay, the Linter Group would also explore the possibility of being of assistance to the Government of Sri Lanka in the mining industry, electricity and power industry where it has abundant experience.
The core strategy of Linter Group is based on a constant increase of production and intellectual potential, expanding the range of its business activities, elaborating and implementing new technologies and organising innovation, together with perfecting in satisfying their clients’ needs.
It has recently designed and realised, entirely by its own means, a short-blasting room and a paint workshop, fully-equipped production workshop, a plastics production department, and a ski centre in Istebna, the Silesian Beskid, where it provides recuperation facilities to clients.
Owing to continuous care for clients’ satisfaction, Linter Group has become a well-known supplier of goods and services for the majority of Polish hard coal mines, numerous aggregate treatment plants, cement plants, power plants, ports, cocking plants, chemical factories and other industrial enterprises. The significant part of its overall sale is export.
“We deliver goods and services, including design projects, to Estonia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus, Austria, Great Britain, Guinea, Sweden and Germany,” the delegation said.
“We are always looking towards new ventures and on this trip to Sri Lanka, we will focus on leather products and accessories, tea, Ayurveda and herbal products, porcelain products and gems and jewellery,” they added.
“We deeply believe that we can cooperate with each other and we can begin a long-term partnership between Poland and Sri Lanka,” said the Linter Group delegation.
