Elephant House launched Sri Lanka’s first soft drink vending machine at the Crescat Boulevard food court recently. Stocked with the country’s most loved beverage brands including Elephant House Cream Soda, EGB, Lemonade, Necto, Elephant House Bitter Lemon, Orange Crush, Elephant House Soda, KIK Cola and their light variants, Elephant House will deploy similar machines in food courts at K-Zone Ja Ela and K-Zone Moratuwa this month. “As a youth brand, we strive to stay in touch with the pulse of the younger generation through our products. Being aware of today’s fast paced lifestyles of the Sri Lankan consumer, we are proud to launch the country’s first soft drink vending machine which will bring our consumers closer to their loved beverages,” said Elephant House Head of Beverages and Vice President John Keells Holdings Daminda Gamlath. “Located strategically at popular shopping destinations, the vending machines offer a quick and convenient pit stop for thirsty shoppers. Going forward, we plan to set up more machines at similar locations across the island,” he added. The machines, a novel addition to the Sri Lankan soft drink market, will offer Elephant House’s extensive range of beverages in handy 500ml PET bottles and 250ml cans. The launch comes at a time when Elephant House Cream Soda was recognised as Sri Lanka’s favourite beverage, winning the ‘FMCG Beverage Brand of the Year’ award for eight years in a row and the ‘Youth Beverage Brand of the Year’ award for the second consecutive year at the recent SLIM – Nielsen People’s Awards 2014.
