Elephant House, Sri Lanka’s iconic soft drinks manufacturer, made a historic move on 29 July 2011, when it opened its soft drinks factory to the public – demonstrating to school students the art of manufacturing soft drinks.

The very first visit to the plant was offered to the Dedigamuwa Kanishta Vidyalaya – being a school situated in Ranala, a village in close proximity to the plant. Approximately 50 school children were part of the factory tour, where they got the opportunity to not only witness the manufacturing process, but also learn of the history of this iconic local company and its ever popular brands and products.

Principal of the Dedigamuwa Kanishta Vidyalaya W.G. Piyasena, addressing the gathering at the end of the visit, thanked the company and the management for extending the invitation for the very first factory visit to the respective school.

The company has officially opened its doors to other schools which would like to explore this pioneering soft drinks facility in Sri Lanka and will soon extend the invitation to its brand new state-of-the-art ice cream plant.
