Bren Security Ltd., the Sri Lankan partner of the worldwide Securitas AB group held its annual “Hard Talk” event at 8 Degrees on The Lake, Cinnamon Lakeside recently.
This year marked the 10th anniversary of the event which was held under the distinguished patronage of Securitas Middle East and South Asia Regional President Kris Van den Briel.
“Hard Talk is an open forum discussion originated by and unique to Bren, wherein clients can express their frank views and feedback on service, be it positive, ambivalent or critical,” Bren Security Country President/CEO Major A.U.T Aluwihare said.
Founded in 1992 by Major Aluwihare with just five guards, today Bren has over one thousand guards and has come to be recognised as the premier security company in Sri Lanka and the main security service provider to the diplomatic community.
It is the only security company to institute a rigorous 5-tier operational control structure, Bren has innovative monitoring and control systems for heightened supervision of performance, including GEMS (Guard Electronic Monitoring System), rapid response capabilities backed by a 24-hour Ops Room, and well rounded multi tasking security officers who are well versed in fire fighting, first aid, basic electrical and plumbing skills, animal handling and gardening.
At this year’s Hard Talk, Major Aluwihare spoke of the Entrepreneurial Operating System, EOS, which proved to be the turning point wherein Bren Security was able to differentiate itself from other security companies.
“Every organisation has to have a crystal clear vision shared by all and mainly the front line soldiers,” he said. “The Entrepreneurial Operating System is a comprehensive business system, integrating a holistic business model with a complete set of simple business tools and a proven business process to align and synchronise all the pieces of your business to produce the results you want.”
EOS helps a company achieve three things, namely vision, traction and health. “The EOS model helps to simplify the way you see your business and sets the context for becoming a great company and at Bren we have found it to be of invaluable use,” said Major Aluwihare.
As was the case every year, Bren invited their most valued clients comprising distinguished members of the diplomatic fraternity from major Embassies, INGO’s and UN agencies as well as from the major conglomerates and corporate bodies in Sri Lanka, all of whom participated in a lively ‘Hard Talk’ round table discussion, and voiced their opinion on Bren’s services.
The well known specialist on Sri Lankan fauna and flora Prof. Sarath Kotagama made a presentation on places of interest off the beaten track in Sri Lanka, with the evening culminating in a fashion show by internationally acclaimed designer Yolande.
“At Bren your protection is our pride and we strive to provide excellence in all our endeavours,” said Major Aluwihare.
