‘Eveready Lucky Family’ winners collect cash prizes

Nalika Niranjali Gunawardena from Matara went home happy and thrilled having collected Rs. 500,000 from Energizer Lanka Ltd., being the first prize winner of the grand draw of the ‘Eveready Lucky Family’ competition held recently.

Winning the second prize of Rs. 250,000 was H.M. Ayesha Ishani from Anuradhapura. The third and fourth prize winners W.D. Roshan Erantha Gunawardena from Eheliyagoda and Sandanam Anthony Mary from Nawalapitiya got Rs. 150,000and Rs. 100,000 respectively.The presentations were made at a simple ceremony held at the Banquet Hall, Premier Park, Colombo.

Sixty three others had won DVD players, digital cameras and mobile phones at the weekly draws of the island-wide competition which was organised by Energizer for the customers who purchased Eveready AA (Pen torch) batteries.  

The month long competition was held in June/July in two stages. The first was a weekly draw where winners got the above mentioned items. The cash prizes totalling Rs. 1 million was distributed among the four final grand draw winners in the second stage.

“The competition, offering valuable prizes, was held with the intention of rewarding our loyal consumers who have trusted the brand, Eveready for over a century,” a spokesman of Energizer said.  To take part in the competition, a customer had to purchase two pieces of Eveready AA (pen torch) batteries and send the back cards of the two batteries. Each customer could send any amount of entries so long as there was proof of purchasing two AA batteries with each entry.  Energizer, manufactures and markets the widest range of dry cell consumer batteries, portable flash Lights and lighting products as well as rechargeable battery systems under the Brand names of Eveready and Energizer. The company has one of the widest distribution networks for fast moving consumer products across the island and has its head office in Colombo 3 and the battery manufacturing plant at Ekala.
