FCCISL facilitates Indian grant to assist Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu damaged businesses

The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) is engaged implementing ‘Financial assistance for repairs of damaged business in Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu’ a new project which is being fully grant-funded by the Government of India, through High Commission of India (HCI).



HCI First Secretary Development Cooperation J. Justin Mohan and FCCISL Secretary General/CEO Nalin Attygalle signed an agreement representing respective intuitions, yesterday in Colombo.

The project is envisioning facilitating 1,230 beneficiaries who falls in to two categories namely, micro and small enterprises and medium and large enterprises.

The beneficiaries are been referred to ‘Grama Niladharies’ with the support of the respective Government agent through their divisional secretaries/assistant Government agents.

They are also authorised by the respective Government agents in Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu Districts and endorsed by the District Chamber of Commerce President.  

High Commission of India on finalising the modalities for the implementation of the financial assistance to ‘Repairs of damaged business premises in Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu Districts’ with the support of the Government of India, has now become a reality.

FCCISL is involved in collecting data and identifying the individual beneficiaries, since year 2010 for project. FCCISL went depth maintaining the accuracy of the data and underwent for the completion of finalising deserving beneficiaries.

FCCISL has empowered Sri Lankan businesses, in the changing times, to show up their competitiveness and enhance their national and global reach.

With a nationwide membership of 58 chambers of commerce and business associations, FCCISL plays a key role in promoting business and industry in the country by providing wide spectrum of services ranging from advisory, lobbying, consultative and promotional services to information sharing.

The launching ceremony for the project is organised by the High Commission of India for Sri Lanka and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka and will be held in Kilinochchi on 11 April with the participation of Consul General of India V. Mahalingam.
