FCCISL promotes business with the Philippines

The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCISL) recently organised an Evening Discussion on business opportunities in the Philippines at The Kingsbury. The key speaker was John Paul Inigo, the Trade Counselor of the Embassy of Philippines in New Delhi. He said Sri Lanka and the Philippines should work towards together to investment. According to him there are nine key exports sectors: IT-BPM and other services, electronics, agribusiness (food and other resource based products, minerals, transport, motor vehicle parts, garments/textile, home-style (furniture/decors/gift wear) wearables (fashion) accessories/bags/shoes/jewellery. For investors there are special visas in two categories – Special Investors Resident Visa (SIRV) encourages investments in foreign nationals’ grant of multiple indefinite visas for as long investment subsists; Special Retirees Resident Visa (SRRV) encourages foreign nationals to retire and live in the Philippines. Those who invest $ S 20,000-50,000 grant of multiple indefinite visa for as long as investment subsists.
