FCCISL to host Commonwealth Asia Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs Summit

Sri Lanka’s exposure in the eyes of Asian region will be strengthened with the CAAYE summit, which is scheduled to be held just before the CHOGM and Commonwealth Business Forum in Colombo. The official communiqué for the Commonwealth Asian Alliance for Young Entrepreneurs (CAAYE) was handed over to Minister Dullas Alahapperuma, Minister of Youth Affairs and Skill Development, at the Ministry office by Dr. Rahul Mirchandani, Founder President of CAAYE, in the presence of Ministry officials and Nalin Attygalle, Secretary General/CEO of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL). Along with the communiqué, the official flag for CAAYE was handed over to the FCCISL, who will be the next host of the CAAYE Summit 2013 in Colombo this November. CAAYE is a network of alliances between young entrepreneurs, with a written charter and is supported by the Commonwealth Secretariat, London. CAAYE was formed by eight member countries in Asia, which are Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Brunei, Singapore and Malaysia. CAAYE is represented by FCCISL in Sri Lanka and FCCISL will host the summit with young entrepreneurs from all the member countries. FCCISL expects a minimum of 150 to 200 young foreign entrepreneurs to mingle with their Sri Lankan counterparts to share their experiences and success stories. Arrangements will be made for all foreign delegates to be taken on visits which will showcase Sri Lanka and make them understand the quality, standards, value additions and innovation taking place in specific areas such as tea, spices, rubber, ceramics and IT developments. The FCCISL CEO added that they will not only be taken to medium and large scale entities but also to a few micro enterprises as well.
