Consumer favourites Elephant House have been awarded a Silver award in the Industry – Medium sector category at the recently concluded 20th NCE Export Awards.

This win means that Elephant House has now been awarded a record five consecutive times at this prestigious awards show, which is organised by the National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) of Sri Lanka.

Being recognised for its 9.2% year-on-year export revenue growth, which was achieved over its 2011/2012 financial year, Elephant House export team members with their award. For example, local bestseller Elephant House Ginger Beer (EGB) is also now making significant headway in an array of new overseas markets, particularly in the Gulf region of the Middle East.

It has even been introduced into Bukina Faso, in Western Africa, in 2011.

To date, EGB is exported to more than 25 countries. At the same time, Elephant House Ice Cream brands have made a significant impact in Maldives, even claiming the majority of market share in that country’s ice cream market.

As a reward for these significant gains over the years, Elephant House has been recognised over and over again at the NCE Awards, winning a Bronze in 2009, a Gold in 2010, and Silvers in 2006 and 2007 and, most recently, in 2011.
